Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop

It's a Scrapbooking Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop!

Scrapbooking Global is a Stampin’ Up! facebook group that loves to share their scrapbook pages and ideas!  As a CTMH Maker that will be transitioning to Stampin’ Up! as of May 1st (due to the closing of Close to my Heart), I joined the group and thought it would be fun to join in on the blog hop!

So, let’s take a look at the sketch that we are going to use today!

My project today uses a few things that were still available as of this morning!  (Things are selling out quickly!)

I started with the Starter Cut Above Layout Kit 2.  I decided to add the Let’s Go Anywhere sticker sheet.  When We decide which photos to use, we will use the Starter Alphabet Stamp Set.  (My thoughts are for my Daughter’s trip with EF Tours to London, Pompeii, and a few other stops along the way.  I will let her choose a few photos and then we can add the title with which location it was!)

This kit was so easy to put together, and for only $3.13!  WHAT?  That is a steal!

I decided to change the color of the tabs, by using an alcohol marker.  The most fun part was adding the extra stickers to the layout, totally making it one of a kind!

Adding just a bit of foam tape helps to give this cluster so much dimension!

In the video I give a few tips on how to make these stickers work with foam tape, and some tips about that bow you can see off to the right of the photo below!

I even did a quick video to show you the process!  If you would like, take a peek at that, and if you like, I would love to have you as a blog and YouTube subscriber!

I hope you have liked my project today!  Like others, I love to see comments about the projects I share!  Please take a moment to leave a comment before you hop on to the next person!

The next button below will send you to the next blog (Danielle), but here is the whole list of hoppers!  Each blog should have a next button on it, to make it super easy to get through the hop!

Join me in a Mini Album weekly challenge!

My friend Danielle and I are doing a weekly challenge between us to create a mini album page each week. We will both have the same sketch to work with, and using currently available products, we are going to make a page. I think that it will be good to get caught up on some past photos, because, what scrapbooker doesn’t have some photos that they don’t need to get caught up on, right?

I was thinking that the mini albums allow you to get things scrapped, but you don’t have to spend a lot of time to be able to do it. You have space to do some journaling, add some photos, and you are good!

Today’s page doesn’t have any photos on it yet, but I am hoping to get them on there for next week’s post. (so, that might become a thing? We’ll see!)

So, here is today’s sketch.

I think it is designed more for an 8×10 page (which you could also do), but I went with a 6×8 page.

With four kids, I have a lot of birthdays each year! Not only my kids’ birthdays, but the birthdays of the kids in their classes! So, there can be a LOT of photos for those! So, I went with a birthday theme! This page can be used for either Evan or Audrey, as they both like these colors. I used papers from the Mix Ins paper packet and the Celebrate Today paper packet! The balloons (and string) I grabbed from my stash, but they are CTMH! The balloons are Lagoon, Avonlea Teal (it was a cardstock specific to that paper packet), and I believe Juniper. So, two of those colors are retired, but they worked so well! The cardstock mat in the back is Glacier, light side.

Don’t you just love the flip flaps on this page? Yes, the balloons are outside of the page protectors! I attached them with some glue dots. (I used 3×4 and 2×2 flip flaps)

I made multiple layers with the balloons, to add more depth to the whole balloon cluster! There is room for 5 photos on this one little 6×8 scrapbook page! And even room for journaling too!

I would love to see what you do with this sketch! Won’t you play along with us? Make sure to hop over to Danielle’s blog to see what she came up with for this page!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you will take a look around! Let me know what you think!

Favorite Sketch Challenge

Howdy! It is another challenge day over at H2H! Today we are showing off our favorite sketches! I have a hard time choosing just one, so I narrowed it to two! LOL!

So, the first card that I chose was pattern 27 from the Make it from your Heart, Volume 1. It is a great, easy, but versatile pattern!

I used the April SOTM, and had fun with it! I stamped the butterfly in pewter on the white part, as well as the sentiment. I then stamped the butterfly in ballerina ink and cut it out. I also stamped the stripes on either side of the white ribbon. It just added a bit of texture and interest.

The second card uses pattern 23 from the Make it from your Heart volume two. These flowers from the SOTM are so beautiful! I stamped them in canary ink and cut them out. I stamped the cut out leaves in pewter ink, 2nd generation, and then under the flower and the thanks sentiment, I stamped the leaf image in 3rd generation pewter ink. It’s really hard to see in the photos, but adds just a bit of interest.

I popped up the top flower with foam tape, and tucked those leaves in here and there to help balance out the whole image. I love the little pop of color with the canary yellow!

Both of these cards use the Feels like Home paper pack, but they still look a bit different!

I hope you like my fun little cards! Come on over to H2H and play along and share YOUR favorite sketch!
