Sweet Safari

Can you believe we are already in the 3rd week of January?  That is just kind of amazing to me!  Well, this week I will be showcasing Sweet Safari!  Now, this was a paper packet that I thought I could do without.  I was wrong!  So wrong!  I have designed a few classes that I am going to do, and while I wasn’t going to be using this paper for it, this is what I ended up with!  Oh, my, goodness!  The cuteness in this paper is just so sweet!  Let’s check it out, shall we?

September SOTM Blog Hop – Random Act of Cardness

Welcome to another SOTM blog hop! It’s been a bit since I have done one! Today you should have arrived from Danielle’s blog. If not, that’s ok, it’s a big circle, and you will get there!

Today I mixed up a couple of stamp sets, just because they are so fun!! I used the Perk Up stamp and thin cuts for everything except the sentiment, and the September Stamp of the Month for the sentiment.

I made a rainbow background using the circle from the Perk Up Stamp set, and stamped in a whole rainbow of colors, including some new ones! Candy Apple, paprika, goldrush, canary, green apple, bluebird, wisteria, and pansy.

I used some vellum for the sentiment, so it wouldn’t completely hide the fun cup that I stamped!

See that black ribbon? Its new too! Its a fun velvet ribbon, that you will love!

I hope that you love the card! I can’t wait to use both of these sets more! And these colors are fantastic!

Thanks for stopping by! Now, hop on over to Michelle’s blog

See you guys again soon!!

Free Birthday Hugs!

Hey everyone! It’s another week, which means it’s another challenge over at Heart 2 Heart Challenges! This week is “By The Numbers”.

Today I went very VERY subtle with the challenge. I saw this card on Pinterest, and thought that it would be super fun to make, of course, adding my own twist to it!

So, I used the I Heart Us papers, because they are so fun! The striped ‘rainbow’ paper is one of my favorite in the pack! (Plus, with using it, this card will qualify to play along with The Paper Players Color Challenge PP432)

Here you can see that I stamped the numbers as the background behind the sequins in the shaker window. I used the numbers from the March Stamp of the Month, This Happened. I lined them up on one block and stamped them with linen ink, so that it would be a super subtle background. Then I used the Simply Said alphabet to stamp the word BIRTHDAY in archival black ink, mostly centered, but not quite. (on accident, I wanted it centered, but I think it still looks ok! LOL) Then I used the “free hugs” sentiment from the Sticky Notes stamp set, to stamp above and below the BIRTHDAY in lagoon ink.

I used the shaker window foam & acetate to create the shaker bits on this card. I know, it’s square, and you are wondering how the heck I did that, right? Well, I used the squares from the center of the foam circles to create the outline on the shaker bits, and then added the loose sequins. I attached a few of them with the micro glue dots, so that when it sits up, they don’t all fall to the bottom. I put the acetate on top, making sure that all of the corners were covered, and then just trimmed off the extra acetate, to make it be a square!

The white ribbon adds just the right amount of texture to the card to finish it off!

I hope that you enjoyed my card! I hope you go over and play along with the Heart 2 Heart challenge! There are some great examples over there, so it should give you a few ideas of things that you can do to add some numbers to your projects!

Thanks for stopping by! I would love it if you leave a comment for me about my project!

Until next time,

Michelle

This week’s challenge over at Heart 2 Heart Challenges is “I Heart Us”. Now, you can take that, as always, in whatever fashion that you want. You can use the paper pack with the same name, or the photos that move your heart.

Today I have a fun two page spread for you, but it isn’t your traditional size that you see me make, they are 6×8 pages perfect for the Everyday Life albums!

I took the pattern 6 from the Make it from your Heart volume 1 book. Those patterns are for 12×12 pages, so I had to do some figuring, but I did, and made it work for the 6×8 pages!

First I started with some mink cardstock cut to 6×8, then I made some masks with a couple of clouds, and did some white ink splatter around the edges of the pages with my water brush. Next I used the negative of those clouds to be able to sponge some pebble and charcoal inks onto the cardstock to create the darker clouds. I cut the title from the cut apart page from the I heart us paper pack, as well as the strips of paper.

I used some foam tape to pop up the title and the clouds. Sparkles and Bitty Sparkles make some fun ‘rain’ on the left side of the left page.

I created a cut file for you to use, if you have the Artistry cartridge, you will be able to recreate this page in no time!

You can find the file here.
