Three on Thursday

Its a new year and with that comes a new Three on Thursday! This week’s class has some adorable cards, and many of the stamps you may already have in your stash! Each week I do a YouTube Live video, and I make three cards for you. This is what we did this week! Let’s take a look, shall we?

Isn’t this card just adorable? I have always loved the little faces, but never used them, because they were individual, and I was afraid that I would make them look wonky! This card was inspired by a card done by Jodi Collins, and of course, I had to put my own spin on it!

There is some paper piecing involved with the coffee cup, but it is super easy to do, and it just looks so cute! I love the detail on the wood planks!

And, of course, we can’t forget the inside! I don’t normally stamp a sentiment on the inside, but this card just screamed for something more! So, stamp I did! It’s fun to pair different stamp sets together, don’t you think?

I have a realtor friend who shares houses all the time, and I love it when she shares the congrats pics and all the fun doorstep drops that she does! So, this card is dedicated to her! The design itself is inspired by a few different cards, by Janne KE, Brenda Rose, and Kelly Baxter. (I almost wonder if I should have put some string on it to make it look like an old fashioned hanging framed photo, what do you think?)

The coloring was super fast, as I didn’t do any shading. Just a few markers, and you are done! I love that even with this paper, you could totally make this house a different color!

Of course, you can’t forget the inside, nor the envelope! Just quick little bits and it just makes everything 100 times better! So simple!

Last, but not least, we have this super fun card! This is definitely old paired with new! I really wanted to go for that flying banner look, and I think I nailed it!

Different layers of foam tape make the plane pop out between the clouds!

And, of course the inside and envelope!

I hope that you have enjoyed this week’s cards! I have listed all of the supplies below. If you have any questions that aren’t answered in the video or this post, please let me know, and I will be happy to answer them for you!

Scraps in the Backyard?

The newest challenge over at H2H is “In the Backyard”.  You could take that any number of ways, however most of us are using the Backyard Bliss paper packet!  It’s such a fun paper, and I have so many projects coming up for you guys in the next few days!  I can’t wait to show you!

Onto today’s project!  I totally forgot to take a photo of the scraps that I was working with, I wish I had, but I will have a process video for you, soon!  It shows what I started with!

ANYWAY . . . Everything that I used on this card was scraps!  (except the card base and envelope!)  I LOVE being able to use up all of my bits and pieces!  (especially when it turns out super cute!)

I had the torn up pieces left from the scrapbook workshop that is coming out, the stickers are from the sticker sheet, more pieces that didn’t make it into that workshop!  The flowers are all from the paper board compliments, that I used the Purple Blend Tri-Blend marker on.  And the kraft paper was the perfect width, I just had to trim the length!

This card went together really very quickly!  it took more time to color the flowers than it did to do the whole rest of the card!  You have to love it when it comes together super quickly!

I would LOVE to know what you think about this card!  And if you decide to play along with the H2H challenge this time!  (remember, it’s “In the Backyard” not “Scraps”!)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Until next time, be crafty!

Sometimes you just need some Winter Wonderland!

Hello crafty friends! It is another crafty challenge week at H2H! This time it is all about the Winter Wonderland! I just recently got this paper pack, and it is so fun! I wanted to make something extra useful for the holidays that are happening soon (are YOU ready?) So, I went with a gift card holder!

It’s super simple, can be used with scraps, and is great for any and all occasions! This gift card holder is beyond easy to make! Let me know if you guys make some!

Let me know what you think of this adorable little guy! Then, hop over to H2H’s blog, and play along with the challenges!

Do you have problems with making masculine cards?

I know that sometimes I do!  I thought that the Oh Deer challenge over at H2H Designs was perfect to get in a fun guy card!  And the great news, it’s fairly easy, too!

I grabbed a deer image off of one of the CTMH cartridges, and did some editing.  I cut it out a couple of times, so that I wouldn’t have to worry about foam tape on those teeny antlers!!

I used three different distress oxides to color the back panel, then sprinkled some water droplets on it, then sprinkled some gilt gloss spray over the oxides.

I used just a scrap of the french vanilla cardstock to help the sentiment pop off the card.  The sentiment itself was embossed with gold embossing powder.

The card went together super quickly!  And I could imagine it working with any number of color combinations!

I would love to see what you come up with, with the inspiration you get from the other ladies participating in the H2H Challenges!

Until next time, I hope you are able to stay crafty, my friends!

A Lovely Thanks

Happy Friday!  I hope your week has been lovely! (tehehehe)  It has been a fun filled week with the Lovely paper packet, don’t you think?

This card was partly made from leftover pieces from my desk!  The Thanks die cuts were from a card that I was going to do a video on, and life got in the way!  The Kraft paper and white daisy were smaller pieces on my desk as well.  It’s awesome to be able to use other layers to strategically hide things!

I know it’s somewhat hard to see, but there are ballerina stamped dots above and below the blue belle banner.  Add some ballerina liquid pearls, and it just tops off the card!  I did a row of those same dots on the inside of the card.

I hope you have enjoyed all of the projects made with the Lovely Paper Packet this week!  I would love to hear what you have thought of everything!

Thanks for stopping by!

Just so Thankful

Hello friends! Today brings yet another H2H challenge! This week’s challenge is all about Thankful Hearts.

I am guilty of not sending out thank you cards as quickly as I should (or, ya know, at all.)

So, it’s really nice to be able to throw together a super quick card, that I don’t even have to do any stamping on. In fact, because I had a piece of kraft cardstock in my stash that I had already done this fun effect on, the hardest thing I did on this card was the sponging on the edges of all of the pieces!

The kraft cardstock I scored every half inch, and then I turned the sheet over, and scored the opposite half inch, so that there was a score mark every quarter inch, just one was raised and one was indented. It gives a nice look to this cardstock, I think!

The focal image is a 3×4 PML card from the Grateful heart paper pack, as is the green dotted mat behind it. I trimmed the white PML card down 1/8″ on all four sides (to help keep the image centered), lightly sponged it with toffee ink, and then glued to the green card, that I had also sponged with toffee ink.

I wrapped a bit of the mink twine around the two cards three times and tied it in a knot. Popped the whole thing up on some 3D foam tape and put it on the front of the card, and viola! A beautiful, fun, easy card ready to be given in less than 5 minutes!

I would love to know what you think of it! Please leave me a comment to share your thoughts!

Thanks so much!

~Michelle

Thankful

If you joined me Sunday morning, you got a chance to see me make this fun card, and even the oops that I had! If you didn’t join me, you should add me to your Sunday morning schedule, so you can watch live next Sunday, 9am Pacific time!

This card is fairly simple, and is completely and totally inspired by Amy Ulen’s card. When I made my sample, I couldn’t find my package of Kraft, so I had to figure out what I had that I could use to make my sample and then make another during my live video, so it’s amended from her card, but you can totally tell that it is inspired by hers!

Would you believe that the bright pops of color on this card are from the new water color pencils? It totally is! I LOVE the look that this gives the card, especially on the kraft cardstock!

This card was SUPER easy to make! It doesn’t take very long, and looks fantastic! You should TOTALLY give it a try! While you are at it, link it up to the Heart 2 Heart Challenge this week, which is to use ANYTHING from the new Holiday Expressions book!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you liked my project, and I hope that you will leave a comment letting me know what you think, and also join in on the challenge at H2H, that I linked above! You have through the end of the month to play along!

Until next time!
~ Michelle
