It’s a Color Challenge with a Midas Touch!

I do love to work with color challenges!  And this week we have a new one!  The challenge is GOLD!  That’s the only ‘given’.  You can mix and match with any other colors that you would like!  I don’t know about you, but this gives me a perfectly good reason to use the Gold Foil Patterns Paper Packet!

So, I will admit, that I didn’t know what exactly I was going to do at first.  I wanted to use the gold foil paper packet and the new Daisy Meadows paper packet.  I didn’t know which of the papers from either packet, so I went and played on Pinterest.  I found the start of a great idea, and went with it!

How beautiful is that paper??  So, when you get the gold foil patterns paper packet, it is white paper with gold foil.  No other colors.  So, I grabbed the water color pencils and added some in!  I didn’t want to use the markers, because those will also color the foil, and if I’m being honest, I didn’t want to have to be that careful!  LOL!!

The sentiment is stamped in peacock ink to match the background paper.  I added two of the tiny pink dots from the Daisy Meadows dots to the right side to create the visual triangle.  This card went together really quickly, even with the coloring!  Join me at 5pm as I make this card over on my FB page!

Gold Foil Pattern Papers

These are the patterns of the paper packet, aren’t they fun?

I encourage you to play along with both H2H in their bi-monthly challenges and also with me in my 52 weeks of Cards challenge!

I would love to hear what you think of this card!  Which of the gold foil patterns is YOUR favorite?

CTMH Technique Blog Hop – Fabulous Foil

Welcome to the CTMH Technique blog hop! You should have arrived from Michelle’s blog, if not, that’s ok, it’s a big circle, so you will get back to her!

Today we are focusing on our new Foil papers! Have you seen them? They are GREAT!! Our foil paper is 10 lb cover weight, so it’s nice and sturdy. Hopefully you will hop through the blog hop and get some great fun new ideas to use this fabulous new product!

Now, I know that summer is still here, and that fall is just around the corner, but I just HAD to share this with you. In the new ‘little book’ (i.e. Holiday Expressions), you will find 2 different Christmas papers, a cut above card kit (also Christmas) and a Tag set too! (As well as two other paper packs that aren’t Christmas!) Well, I just had to show you something SUPER fun that you can do with this tag set!

I know, I know, BUT, you can totally use this idea and make a Celebrations banner, or Happy New Year, or Happy Birthday, or Happy Anniversary! The options are almost endless, really!!

To get to the end result, I added a few things to the tag set. The Black Cardstock helps the shimmer of the gold and silver pop against the white. The Gold and Silver Foil papers were added (of course), and the Basics Ribbon Pack. I used the Block Alphabet Thin Cuts to cut the letters from the foil papers. The tags (both gold and silver), the glitter bows, and the white circles are all included in the tags kits, along with some white twine, which I did not use in this project.

Now, I know my lighting isn’t the best, but just LOOK at all that shine!! I used the gold foil paper for the letters on the tags that had the gold embossing on them, and used the silver foil paper for the circle under the gold letters. For instance, this M from Merry Christmas:

This fun banner was super simple to put together! I know you will want to make something similar! I can’t wait to see what YOU do!

Next up is Sarah, so hop on over to her blog, and see what fun things she has made for you!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope to see you again soon!
