Three on Thursday

Its a new year and with that comes a new Three on Thursday! This week’s class has some adorable cards, and many of the stamps you may already have in your stash! Each week I do a YouTube Live video, and I make three cards for you. This is what we did this week! Let’s take a look, shall we?

Isn’t this card just adorable? I have always loved the little faces, but never used them, because they were individual, and I was afraid that I would make them look wonky! This card was inspired by a card done by Jodi Collins, and of course, I had to put my own spin on it!

There is some paper piecing involved with the coffee cup, but it is super easy to do, and it just looks so cute! I love the detail on the wood planks!

And, of course, we can’t forget the inside! I don’t normally stamp a sentiment on the inside, but this card just screamed for something more! So, stamp I did! It’s fun to pair different stamp sets together, don’t you think?

I have a realtor friend who shares houses all the time, and I love it when she shares the congrats pics and all the fun doorstep drops that she does! So, this card is dedicated to her! The design itself is inspired by a few different cards, by Janne KE, Brenda Rose, and Kelly Baxter. (I almost wonder if I should have put some string on it to make it look like an old fashioned hanging framed photo, what do you think?)

The coloring was super fast, as I didn’t do any shading. Just a few markers, and you are done! I love that even with this paper, you could totally make this house a different color!

Of course, you can’t forget the inside, nor the envelope! Just quick little bits and it just makes everything 100 times better! So simple!

Last, but not least, we have this super fun card! This is definitely old paired with new! I really wanted to go for that flying banner look, and I think I nailed it!

Different layers of foam tape make the plane pop out between the clouds!

And, of course the inside and envelope!

I hope that you have enjoyed this week’s cards! I have listed all of the supplies below. If you have any questions that aren’t answered in the video or this post, please let me know, and I will be happy to answer them for you!

Do you have Inky Fingers?

I know I do! I have been playing with the papers from the current books, and am just IN LOVE! For today’s hop, you may have started here, or you may have arrived from Wendy’s blog, either is great! The hop is a large circle, so you will end up where you started!

Today’s card was super fun to put together!  I used some leftover papers from the Serenity Cardmaking WYW kit.  I looked in the MIFYH 4 book for a fun easy card to make so that I could add some fun inky background to it!

I used our colored pencils to color in the flowers, no water needed!  a bit of the silver embellishing thread to wrap around, and it’s just adorable!  I used Sapphire ink with a sponge in the background to get the fun color ‘splash’!

This card turned out SUPER cute!  (even if I did have to stray from my original plan because I didn’t have the right distress ink colors!)

I would love to hear your thoughts on this fun card!  Leave a comment below before you hop over to Maz’s blog!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Adventure Abounds

Hey everyone! It’s time for another challenge over at H2H! This week’s challenge is adventure abounds, and I am the hostess this week! So, hop on over there to check it out, and then join in on the fun!!

I used the Fly By Greetings stamp set paired with the Card Front Spinner Thin Cuts. I think it turned out really well!

I used a number of the markers to color it, Ice Grey, brown grey, Dark Red, True blue, Citrus Blend, as well as the colorless blender.

I decided that I wanted to add a bit of texture to the background, so I grabbed the mini splatter dots from the Card subscription set. (I LOVE LOVE LOVE this set!! It is one of my go to sets for cards! I am positive that you will want it too!)

I used thin foam tape on my spinner parts, but I would HIGHLY recommend not doing that! Use the regular thickness, it will make it easier for the card to spin! (well, it spins just fine, it’s just getting my finger on it to make it spin that is a bit harder with the thin foam tape, vs. the regular!)

I hope you like my card today! It was great fun to color and put together!

Now, go back and check out what the other ladies have to share with you, and hopefully it will spark some creativity in you!

CTMH Technique Blog Hop – Purposeful Patterns

Welcome to this months Technique Blog Hop! This month we are working with the Make if From Your Heart volumes 3 and 4. You should get plenty of great ideas from this blog hop, and I am certain that you will want one or both of these books by the time you are done! You should have arrived from Danielle’s blog. If you didn’t, and you started here, that’s ok, it’s a big round circle, and you will get back to her blog!

Today I am working with Volume 4, which is all about cards! I had a hard time choosing which pattern to use, but decided to go with pattern #4.

This is the first card that I made. Now, I did make some adjustments for this card. I left off the piece on the left, and I added another banner piece, plus the sentiment piece as well.

I loved the flowers and the butterflies on this PML card from the Chelsea Gardens paper pack. So, I trimmed it to 4 x 5.5, trimmed the card base down to the same size, and started layering things! This whole card (minus the base) is used from scraps from my projects that I have made already! That lacey banner piece, that was part of a 3×4 PML card. The mat under the sentiment? It’s the same PML card! I used charcoal ink to stamp the sentiment with and the Many Congratulations stamp set. I used just a bit of the White Shimmer Trim to give a bit more sparkle. Topped it off with some bitty sparkles, and you have a beautiful card!

The next card, believe it or not, is from the same Chelsea Gardens paper pack! I wanted to show that there is great versatility in this paper pack! I even used the same card pattern! The only difference is the size of the sentiment banner!

This is a MUCH more boy-ish card! It is very monochromatic! I am loving this card too! The dark banner piece is one of the zip strips from this paper line. That see through piece? That is our vellum that I colored with the Warm Grey 7 marker! I used that same marker to color the mat piece for the banner! The sentiment is from March’s Stamp of the Month. Like the first card, I stamped with Charcoal ink. I couldn’t leave it plain, so added a few of the white dots to finish it off, and it looks great!

I love that these cards look the same, but so different at the same time! It just goes to show that these card patterns can be used so very many different ways!

The books show you the sketch of the pattern, the dimensions (which I’ve covered in the photo), and two samples of the cards as well. These volumes come hole punched and ready for you to put in an album. You can use any of the mini albums available right now!

Thanks for stopping by! Let me know which card is your favorite! Now you are on to Tammy’s blog.
